To Canada!

I’ve finally reached my final stop before hitting the trail, and it was a long journey to get here. I took a train from Emeryville to Portland and spent a few days there doing final prep with Evan. We caught a train to Seattle, then a bus to my aunt’s place a couple of hours from the trailhead.

Today, my aunt is dropping us off in the middle of nowhere (Hart’s Pass) to start our 30 mile hike to the Canadian border. The journey really begins when we turn around and start heading south. Canada allows hikers to enter the country via the PCT, but the US doesn’t. So the only way to hike the entire PCT southbound is to hike north to the border first. ‘Merica.

The nerves have set in. Nerves and excitement. Here goes nothing!

But before we leave, I must eat as many breakfast bananas as my stomach can handle.
