Cleanliness is next to godliness

My last shower happened about 165 miles ago so for the past few days, I’ve felt like a used trash bag. We’re only a couple of days from the border, but I couldn’t imagine going that much longer feeling so grimy, so we got a motel room in Mount Laguna. Only 41 easy miles left from here.

Unpopular opinion amongst PCT hikers time: I love day hikers! The ones I’ve spoken to over the last few days have given me a huge ego boost by acting like I’m superwoman for hiking the PCT. One woman who I talked to today called me a studmuffin at least 10 times during our 2 minute conversation, and I couldn’t stop laughing on the inside. So good. But yeah, I really love being in day hiker territory where I get to pet their dogs and talk to people who are outside the PCT hiker bubble.

Photo time, cuz I’m feeling too lazy to write more right now/it’s time to go eat my early bird dinner before my 8 PM bed time.

This adorable tiny cave forced me to take a snack break.
52 miles to go!
My last resupply. Also my fanciest resupply since I bought guacamole.
Being a hiker means being able to buy an apple pie and eat the entire thing before dinner with zero guilt.
