It’s a dry heat

Today will be our fourth day back on trail. We’ve been taking it slow, mostly because the NorCal heat has been rough, and the lack of shade and distance between water isn’t helping. The discomfort has led to a couple of “why am I doing this?” moments for me. But I’m stubborn and maybe a little bit of a masochist (I think you have to be to do this), so on I go.

The good news is my body seems to remember what this feels like, so I’m not re-experiencing the pains I did in the beginning. And the weather should be cooler once we hit Lassen tomorrow.

Now to eat all the breakfast while we are in town (the hiker hunger is back) and get back out on the trail.
