Neverending breakfast

Our first full day in Oregon was very…Oregon. Cold and wet

We hopped off of the PCT to do a short side hike to Ramona Falls. Starting just after sunrise, we arrived at the falls early enough to have them to ourselves. Ramona Falls is a very popular tourist destination, so having them to ourselves was a real treat.

Ramona Falls. Worth the detour!

We’re currently camped out behind the Timberline Lodge, waiting for the breakfast buffet to open so we can eat too much food before continuing south. We hadn’t planned on staying here last night, but apparently this buffet is one of the best meals on the PCT so we couldn’t miss out. Unlimited food = best meal.

The Lodge was used for the establishing outdoor shots of the hotel in The Shining. Alas, I haven’t run into the creepy twins in the hallway yet.

This was my first meal when I arrived at the Lodge. I wish I could eat a giant salad and whole pizza all day every day forever. You’ll just have to trust me when I say the salad was massive. There was no time for a photo.
